Rugiyya joined LSEG in 2017 through a graduate programme after completing her summer internship a year earlier. She spent first 3.5 years in Primary Markets, a team that focuses on bringing new listings to the Exchange, where she was part of Analytics team, and later worked as a Business Development Manager for the UK listings. In 2021, she moved across to Equities Trading, more traditionally know as Secondary Markets. She is currently a relationship manager of over 20 top trading firms on London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Turquoise.

Rugiyya is the Co-Head of LSEG’s Women Inspired Network (WIN) in the UK and part of FIX NextGen Steering Committee, an industry body in trading. In 2022, she won WeAreTheCity’s Rising Star from Banking & Capital Markets Award, and was shortlisted for Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in 2023 after being nominated by Julia Hoggett, CEO of LSE Plc.
