Editor in Chief, Civil Engineering American Society of Civil Engineers

Margaret Mitchell is the acting editor in chief of Civil Engineering print magazine, a bimonthly publication of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Margaret started in the magazine world as an editorial assistant at AOAC INTERNATIONAL. From there, she moved to the National Association of Enrolled Agents, working her way up from communications manager to managing editor. She served as managing editor at the Association for Career and Technical Education until 2017, at which time she took a job with ASCE as managing editor of Civil Engineering. Margaret is a seasoned communications professional, with 20 years of experience in magazines and other publications.
