Karsten Guettler joined UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) in Sustainable Investing (SI) in January 2018 and leads the global SI investment specialist team in portfolio management with locations in San Francisco, London, Zurich, Hong Kong and Singapore.
In his role, he represents sustainable investment solutions to clients and is responsible for methodological topics around SI. He is also involved in the development of new SI investment solutions for wholesale and institutional needs. This includes both individualised strategies and collective investments or funds.
Prior to UBS AM, he worked in the Wealth Management Division of UBS as head of SI advisory and distribution in the UHNW segment. In this role, he was responsible for developing sustainability solutions, advising wealthy clients and implementing ESG in portfolios.
Before joining UBS in 2011, Karsten worked for Commerzbank of Germany, the Financial Institutions Practice of the Boston Consulting Group, and Credit Suisse of Switzerland. The focus was on strategy and investments, with a regional specialisation on the German-speaking countries and the emerging markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Karsten completed a banking apprenticeship, holds a MSc in Business Administration in Banking and Finance from Leipzig Graduate School of Management and a PhD in Entrepreneurship from RWTH Aachen University.
