Joseph Chalom, Head of Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships, BlackRock

Joseph Chalom, Managing Director, is the Head of Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships at BlackRock. In this role, he is responsible globally for developing and managing BlackRock’s firmwide strategy with respect to Digital Assets, index and data relationships, and the strategic investments with top partners in the increasingly important data and fintech ecosystems.

Prior to this role, Joseph served as BlackRock’s interim Deputy Chief Operating Officer and was the Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock Solutions, which delivers the firm’s Aladdin technology to external clients globally. In this role, Joseph was responsible for commercial and financial strategy, risk management, and day-to-day operations of the BlackRock Solutions business.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2005, Joseph was a senior technology counsel at Skadden Arps, where he focused on advising clients on strategic partnerships, technology transactions and venture capital investments.

Joseph earned a B.A. degree, with honors, in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University in 1993 and a J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1997.
