Jessica Velasco (she/her) advocates for social equity as a facilitator, educator, and thought leader. She started her career in program management with non-profits then became a special education leader in both charter and private school sectors. As a first-generation Filipina-American, curiosity always sparked when topics of race, culture, and, ethnicity were studied. She questioned why systemic racism affected communities of color? Why assimilating in predominantly white spaces was the key to fit in? And the questions continued until she learned about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Today, Jessica is passionate about highlighting individuality, dismantling the status quo, and championing DEI practices through coaching, mentoring, and developing talent. As a facilitator, Jessica allows individuals to feel welcomed and included by supporting individuals to let go of fear and develop a growth mindset together. Jessica is a proud board member of FYLPRO, (Filipino Youth Leaders Program, a network of high-performing, next-generation leaders advancing the Philippine and Fil-Am community through advocacy and expertise in various industries) and a Luminary Ambassador, (a career and personal growth platform and collaboration hub created to address systemic challenges impacting women across all industries and sectors.)
