Jenny Martin is the Senior Director of Communications at the Sugar Association where she plays an integral role in the development and implementation of the Association’s communications strategy. Her work shapes a proactive approach to tell real sugar’s story, promote industry-leading research, and advocate for evidence-based policy. For the past 17 years, she has worked in various roles in agricultural communications. Prior to her current role, Jenny held the position of Director of Strategic Communications at The Fertilizer Institute where she managed communications for the association’s stewardship and sustainability strategic initiatives, organizational branding, and the production and communication of TFI’s State of the Fertilizer report. Additionally, Jenny managed communications efforts at the International Dairy Foods Association and the International Food Information Council.
Jenny also served in key federal government roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, communicating the benefits of federally funded agricultural research. During her service, she was instrumental in the launch of USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
Jenny earned her BA in Journalism from Iowa State University and a MPS in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
Jenny is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She grew up on a small farm in Iowa and is still very loyal to her Iowa State Cyclones.
