Data Scientist, S&P Global

Debbie Connolly is a Data Scientist at S&P Global, where she specialises in the end-to-end development and deployment of AI-driven solutions. She is passionate about leveraging emerging technologies to create innovative and practical solutions that provide commercial value to clients. Debbie works within S&P’s Market Intelligence Data & Research division, which delivers comprehensive financial data and insights to over 300,000 clients. Her expertise is in Big Data, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Most recently, Debbie led the development and launch of a News Sentiment application, a cutting-edge tool designed to analyse news articles for over 10,000 companies. She trained and deployed proprietary AI models that generate quantitative signals that provide valuable insights for clients. Currently, she is currently working on a AI assistant for Capital IQ Pro, designed to enhance the user experience by providing time-saving answers and simplifying navigation of the platform.
Debbie holds a MSci from University College London in Natural Sciences.
