Charles Ashwanden, Asset Management and ESG lead, Crux

Charles Ashwanden is currently based in London where he leads the Financial Services and ESG team at Crux Informatics. He primarily works with banks and financial services firms helping to accelerate and integrate data enterprise-wide.

Before joining Crux, Charles spent 12 years at eVestment-Nasdaq where he established company presence outside of the current US operations and until recently was Head of Data-Feed Services, responsible for developing and deploying data feeds and APIs to help AI and BI teams work more effectively with eVestment-Nasdaq data. He regularly worked with asset managers and owners, industry bodies, regulators, and consulting firms globally to coordinate and build the consensus required to establish eVestment as the pre-eminent data aggregation and delivery platform for the institutional investment community.

Since the start of his career, Charles has worked in a number of capacities for financial data providers including Managing Director at S&P Funds Services, Head of New Product for Financial Express, and Head of Sales for Statpro.

For some years Charles served on the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) sub-committee and has been actively involved in discussions for the Alternative Investment Market Financial Directive (AIMFD) and ESG regulatory standardization and D&I across the fund management industry.
