TechCongress Fellow, U.S. Senate Committee for Commerce, Science and Transportation
Alice is a TechCongress fellow supporting science and emerging technology policy for the Senate Committee for Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Her legislative portfolio spans scientific R&D, regional innovation, international standards-setting, cybersecurity education, and critical technology supply chains across the National Science Foundation, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Department of Commerce.
She brings to the Hill prior experience as a technologist and entrepreneur from Silicon Valley. As a former software engineer, data scientist, and co-founder who raised over $4M in venture capital, she has worked across the verticals of insurance, data analytics, finance, social media, and retail at companies including Facebook, Bloomberg, Tableau, and her own AI startup. Through these experiences, she gained a deep understanding and appreciation of how technology and innovation can profoundly impact every corner of our society if guided thoughtfully and in collaboration with private and public sector leaders.
She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.A. in Philosophy from Stanford University, where at the Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), she also pioneered initiatives to scale the positive impact of AI research to broader audiences.
