SIIA Commends Senators Leahy and Tillis for Introduction of Legislation

Today, Senator Leahy (D-VT), the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts and IP and Senator Tillis (R-NC), its ranking member,  introduced two pieces of patent legislation: (1) the Unleashing American Innovators Act and (2) the Pride In Patent Ownership Act.  Jeff Joseph issued the following statement:

“SIIA commends Senators Leahy and Tillis for introducing this legislation, and their commitment to patent system access and transparency.  The Pride in Patent Ownership Act makes it easier for our member companies to find out who the owner of a patent is, which can lead to easier licensing transactions.  And the Unleashing American Innovators Act takes steps forward to increasing veteran access to the patent system.  We look forward to working with the Committee on both of these bills.”
