SIIA Announces Finalists for the 2021 AM&P Network Associations Council EXCEL Awards

240 association media professionals recognized in peer-reviewed awards program

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 10, 2021) – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announces today finalists for the 41st AM&P Network Association Council EXCEL Awards – the premier awards program honoring association media. Winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony held virtually on June 16, 2021. 

The EXCELS are the largest and most prestigious program recognizing excellence and leadership in association media, publishing, marketing and communication. 

“This year’s class of EXCEL Award finalists are deserving of special recognition,” said SIIA President Jeff Joseph. “Associations and the industries they represent faced unprecedented challenges during this tumultuous time. The honorees announced today stand among the leaders in providing critical information to help support and educate their members, underscore the value of associations and help their organization pivot to growth and sustainability. Congratulations to these outstanding honorees.”

Through 82 categories—including two new categories: 2020 Pandemic Response and Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives—240 EXCEL Award finalists were carefully selected through a two-stage evaluation process by a panel of more than 80 peer judges.  Most-winning companies include AARP, American Physiological Society, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Graphek and Washington State Medical Association. The award placement (gold, silver, bronze) of these 240 finalists will be announced at the June 16 ceremony, in conjunction with the Reset, Reinvent Revenue 2021 event, AM&P Network’s virtual event for association publishing professionals.  The EXCEL Awards will conclude with the announcement of the EXTRA! Award, the highest honor chosen from among the winners in all categories. 

The EXCEL Awards also showcase three prestigious Leadership Awards:

  • The Equity Award, new in 2021, honors an individual or team demonstrating significant progress and identifiable achievement toward efforts related to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
  • The Emerging Leader Award recognizes the rising talent leading the path forward for the industry.
  • The Mitch Mohanna Achievement Award venerates an industry service provider demonstrating commitment and service to the association media and publishing industry.
