SIIA has the longest-running software IP Protection program. Started in the mid-1980s through the Software Publishers Association, SIIA's Corporate IP Protection program identifies, investigates, and resolves software piracy cases on behalf of our members. When internet-based piracy emerged, SIIA again broke new ground and now has an extensive program for tackling software pirates operating over the Internet, ensuring that SIIA members receive the maximum protection possible.
SIIA pursues three types of software piracy: corporate end-user piracy, Internet piracy and reseller piracy. Each of these requires a different reporting process.
