Judges play a critical role in the success of the program. The peer-review judging process ensures the high quality and caliber of the work selected to win an award.
It’s an excellent way to learn what your industry colleagues are working on, review exemplary content, and glean new ideas for your brands.
All judging will be virtual, and the timeline will be April 5-April 23, 2021.
The EXCEL Awards seeks judges from across the association publishing landscape: editors, content managers, art directors, designers, production artists, communication directors/managers, printers and more. Members and non-members are welcome. We invite diverse perspectives and expertise to thoughtfully examine and score entries, honoring the integrity of this prestigious awards program.
You can learn more about the EXCEL judging guidelines here.

No, you must complete a new registration for each awards cycle and judging.
The EXCEL Award judging system (Omni) is different from the SIIA/AM&P website. You may set the same credentials if you’d like, but separate registration is required.
Please select the categories you are interested in judging; we will try our best to accommodate.
Yes! We encourage as many qualified candidates from a company to participate in EXCEL Award judging. Sign up to judge here.
Judge and entry matching are determined based on how many entries are received and how many judges sign up. In previous years, judges may receive more than 20 entries, depending on the categories they were assigned. You can expect to dedicate around 10 hours, but we give you three weeks to complete your judging, so it can split up based on your schedule. These numbers are subject to change based on entries submitted and confirmed judges.
All judging will take place digitally, but in cases where judges wish to connect with their fellow category judges virtually, the EXCEL’s support team will coordinate.
