Large Language Models for Financial Data – Where Will We See the First Disruption?

Since late 2022, the world has been buzzing with discussions on the applications of LLMs and the implications for the workplace and society in general.

Arguably the use of algorithmic trading technologies in our industry over the past 15 years provides some very interesting precedents for model training and deployment.

Our panel of financial information experts are thinking about how these developments will disrupt our existing (and emergent) financial data processes. We expect a lively discussion ranging from applications of the technology to licensing, regulations and controls.

Moderator: Nimesh Bharadia, Kaimian
James Crosby, Fencore
Naman Joshi, Databricks
Simon Karaban, Iress
Sean Mathieson, AWS

5:15 – 5:50 p.m.

Humpty Dumpty and Data Interoperability – Can Emerging Desktop Standards Put Data Back Together Again?

While Cloud and API-based data access has had a significant positive impact within specific vendor solutions, the task for end users facing multiple vendor solutions has largely remained unchanged.

Through recent developments in the area of data portability and interoperability, end users are claiming back the ability to easily (and legitimately) traverse the boundaries of historical “walled gardens”.

We have assembled a panel of experts in fintech interoperability and the end user experience and we are looking forward to a lively discussion of what’s practical and possible is this last but most important frontier in the revolution to democratize data.

Moderator: Stuart Roberts, Sprada
Kelly Atrill, Lab49

Adam Toms, OpenFin
