Leveraging Data Currency for Building an AI Economy

Exploring the vital connection between data and AI, highlighting how “data currency” fuels the growing AI economy. We will emphasize how data is the driving force behind the AI revolution, just as oil powered the industrial revolution. The concept of “data currency” underscores the inherent value of data, which can be exchanged and traded like a valuable asset. The talk delves into how organizations can leverage their data to participate in the AI economy, including understanding data valuation, utilizing data marketplaces, establishing ethical data governance, and developing AI models. It concludes by stressing the importance of collaboration and data sharing for a thriving AI ecosystem where data currency drives innovation and economic growth.

Switching Market Data Platform and Vendor: Experience report from a very successful large client installation

The dreaded “M” word, Migration. There is little wonder that migraine and migrate start with the same five letters.
As the financial data required to achieve alpha expands exponentially, your technology needs to keep pace. Traditional and new data sets need to be easily accessible, well serviced, fully entitled, and competitively priced. This is where technology that enables flexibility and fosters competition steps in. Neutral platforms running on premises or in the private, public or hybrid cloud are the future.
In this session BCC Group will walk through use cases and lessoned learned migrating data consumers to the neutral world of their ONE Platform. BCC Group has tools and services that make migrations straightforward. And once you are there, your platform, entitlement system, reports and your API needs to be independent of a data provider so there is no need to ever migrate again.

Hardware Evolution for Software Engineers and Kubernetes

An introduction into recent hardware changes, such as Chiplets, DPUs, Accelerated NICs and why they are important for the industry. What does a software engineer need to understand to maximise performance and how does this all work in a Kubernetes environment?

Market Data Technology – What’s Good Today and What Do We Need Tomorrow?

Progress, disruption, and innovation are exciting but sometimes stability and familiarity are highly valuable. What do we like about the state of market data technology at the very end of 2024, and what don’t we like? Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond what is needed, what would be useful and valuable that we don’t have today? Big trends like AI and the Cloud are important but sometimes is the smaller things that matter more.

David Anderson, Program Director, FISD/Atradia
Nigel Phelan, Chief Architect for the Market Data team, JP Morgan
Mike Wright, Head of Market Data Technology, Deutsche Bank

11:55 – 12:25 p.m.

Power of Cloud: GenAI Analytics Combining Structured and Unstructured Market Data

Learn about the cloud architecture and best practices to enable the combination of structured real time market data feed with unstructured datasets to your next generation Generative AI applications.

James Calise, Senior Director, Cloud Engineering, Financial Services, Oracle

12:25 – 12:55 p.m.

Creating Advantage with the Desktop

We explore how to configure a desktop to monitor the timeliness of data delivery for simultaneous updates from different sources. Data consumers have the option of receiving data from its point of origin via various means or distribution methods. For example, exchange data received via vendors, directly from the exchange, or from low latency distributors via internal applications. We explore functionality to identify any differences as to when updates are received.

Matthew Jeffs, CEO, Arcontech
Darren Lewis, Director, Development, Arcontech

Industry Collaboration – State of the Nation

Over the last year we have seen a huge growth in industry collaborations in data, AI, cloud and architecture, as organizations adopt important new trends and develop shared best practices. Oli Bage, Head of Data & Analytics Architecture at LSEG, will give a whistle stop tour of the most useful collaborations, frameworks and projects, and describe how you can use them to help in your day-to-day engineering work. We will cover:

• OMG & EKGF’s DPROD for Data Product metadata sharing in marketplaces and Data Mesh architectures
• EDM Council’s CDMC & ADAC for multi-cloud data management capabilities and newly proposed AI, Data & Analytics Controls
• Data & Trust Alliance’s D&TA Provenance spec for capturing AI training data lineage
• W3C’s ODRL Market Data Profile Community Group for describing machine readable market data licences
• FinOS CALM Common Architectural Language Model for capturing & automating Architecture as Code
• FinOS CCC Common Cloud Controls for standardising service descriptions & controls in multi-cloud environments
• W3C & ODI’s Solid – Sir Tim Berners Lee’s new project to implement Data Wallets for the next generation of data sharing on the web
