Centres of Excellence (COE’s) are an established feature of our industry both on the data vendor and consumer constituencies. They concentrate expertise and knowledge-sharing and foster best practice and increased innovation. COE’s located in lower cost centers also offer the additional promise of cost savings.

However, not every COE is delivering equally on these promises.

We have assembled a panel of leaders from across our industry with over 100 collective years experience of COEs from Gydinia to Gurgaon. Join us for an interesting webinar exploring their experiences on what makes a financial data COE successful.

Presentation: Filing the Future of ESG

“The SEC has proposed new rules which aim to bring decision-useful information to investors. Modeled off the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), these proposed changes have been receiving public support from Canada. This means that companies would be required to disclose the impact of climate-related events and transition activities that have, or are likely to have, a material impact on the company. As a result, changing consumer and investor preferences, reputational risk, and a company’s value chain (both upstream and downstream) are to be included in each company’s climate-related disclosures and GHG emissions. Once disclosed, this information will have a direct impact on a company’s future financial health, including its access to financing.”

Discussion – Market Data in the Cloud – The Canada Edition

This is a layered and nuanced discussion. A global discussion but today adding a Canadian flavour. There are a multitude of types of data that can be placed in and delivered from ‘The Cloud’. That data can in turn operate a wide spectrum of latency. Clearly it is not one size fits all. We are on a journey to the Cloud and each of us is at different stages of that journey. Not everyone can be ’innovators’ or even a ‘early adopters’ nor should everyone. Being in the ‘early majority’ might be a healthy objective. This market data discussion has both technical and administrative dimensions let’s explore both!
