David C. Hunter
Director of Licensing & Compliance, CUSIP Global Services
David Hunter is the Director of CGS Data Licensing & Compliance at CUSIP Global Services (CGS) and is responsible for managing CGS’s global compliance program as well as managing a team that is responsible for the licensing of CGS’s commercial services in the Americas. In this capacity, David and his team are the first to spot emerging trends, challenges, and common use cases, some of which has evolved into industry best practice. CUSIP is managed on behalf of the American Bankers Association (ABA) by S&P Global Market Intelligence with an independent Board of Trustees that represents the voices of leading financial institutions. For over 50 years we’ve specialized in uniquely identifying instruments and entities helping to ensure that essential front- and back-office functions run smoothly
David regularly interacts with industry participants who wish to receive access to a CGS product or service directly or through one of CGS’s authorized third party data vendors. In this role, David develops and maintains strong relationships with banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, market authorities and third-party data vendors to ensure that appropriate solutions are implemented.
David began his career in 1998 as an Analyst within the Standard & Poor’s Securities Evaluations group and since then has held various roles within the financial services industry including as both a fund accountant as well as an equities trader before rejoining S&P Global in 2008 to work for CGS.
David spends free time his wife, 2 children and 1 dog and enjoys golfing, running and other fitness related activities.
