Market Data in the Cloud, Best Practices and Strategies From the Field
The mission to leverage the cloud for all workloads, especially latency sensitive workloads such as market data, has now come to the forefront throughout financial services. The reason for slower adoption varies from consumer to consumer, but software and hardware infrastructure have evolved and are now viewed as an enabler. In this session, BCC Group will discuss challenges, best practices and strategies gathered over years of significant and real-world experience. If you are planning or are already on your journey to cloud, this session will be a great place pick up some tips, but more importantly, to ask your questions.

William Bierds, Software Engineer, BCC Group

9:50 – 10:20 a.m.

Architecting in the Cloud to Deliver Highly Available HPC Solution for Market Data

In this session we will be discussing cloud architecture design patterns to perform analytics on real time streams of data leveraging high performance compute.

The Shift Towards Cloud Adoption for Live Market Data
The financial industry is moving towards cloud adoption for live market data, creating challenges and opportunities. Despite this trend, institutional algorithmic trading remains an exception. The presentation will cover Cloud Adoption Dynamics, Multi-Cloud Considerations, and Entitlement Controls in the Cloud. By addressing these complexities, we can foster collaboration, drive innovation, and enhance resilience in the market data infrastructure.

Coffee Break

11:20 – 11:50 p.m.

Creating Advantage with the Desktop

We explore how to configure a desktop to monitor the timeliness of data delivery for simultaneous updates from different sources. Data consumers have the option of receiving data from its point of origin via various means or distribution methods. For example, exchange data received via vendors, directly from the exchange, or from low latency distributors via internal applications. We explore functionality to identify any differences as to when updates are received.

Darren Lewis, Director Development, Arcontech

11:50 – 12:20 p.m.

Leveraging Multi-Cloud to Pick the Best Service for Capital Markets Use Cases

As Capital Markets firms continue their migration to cloud, the trend is shifting from hybrid-cloud to a multi-cloud approach. Since Capital Markets firms had past investments in on-prem infrastructure, a hybrid cloud approach was intuitive. However, with the increased competition between different cloud providers, especially with their LLM offerings, a multi-cloud approach is becoming more desirable. In this talk, we will discuss the latest trend he is observing in the market and how companies can leverage services from different cloud providers.
