Head of Capital Markets, Business Development- Asia Pacific & Japan, AWS

Responsibilities
Hasan Rauf leads Amazon Web Services’ business and market development efforts for the Capital Markets industry across Asia Pacific and Japan. In this role, Hasan is responsible for leading the development and execution of Amazon Web Services’ strategic initiatives for the Capital Markets industry in alignment with Amazon Web Services’ global organization and the development of key relationships with customers and partners in their cloud adoption and digital transformation journey.

Experience
Hasan Rauf previously held the role of Executive Director and Head of Business Development for Asia Pacific at DTCC, a global leader in the financial services industry. Hasan’s role was to manage and drive business growth for the company’s portfolio of leading-edge solutions and services in Asia Pacific, covering Institutional Trade Processing, DTCC Data Services, and Repository and Derivatives Services. In this capacity, Hasan was responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s sales and business development teams in Asia Pacific.

His responsibilities included providing strategic direction to expand DTCC’s coverage in Asia Pacific by assessing and penetrating new markets, building alliances with key partners, managing P&L for the company’s sales and business development unit, and presenting at industry and trade conferences to evangelize the importance of creating solutions to mitigate risks, reduce costs and create market efficiencies.

This follows previous senior sales roles at DTCC – focusing on markets in South Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to DTCC, Hasan held various business development positions in Australia with CommSec, St George Bank, National Australia Bank and Westpac. His vast experiences in the financial services span across various sectors, from Cash Management, Institutional Banking, Transactional Banking to Global Markets

Education
Hasan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Deakin University, a diploma in Financial Markets from the Australian Financial Markets Association and several post-graduate certifications. His achievements included holding the title of leading sales associate in cash management, corporate banking and financial markets and steering his team at DTCC to consistently overachieve revenue targets for the region.
