TOPICS

Round 1

Commercials – hosted by Steve Veasey, 3di

Every year, many parties from all sides of the table struggle with market data budgets and agreeing new contracts. Negotiation is the common basis for most contract discussions but there are many more actions that can be taken earlier, especially internally.

ESG – hosted by Andreas Link, SIX group

No longer an alternative investment as this market sector keeps growing in importance. However, the lack of standards continues to frustrate, and more regulation increases the data demand. Is there light at the end of the tunnel and what are the emerging trends in this space.

Regulation – hosted by Rudolf Siebel, BVI

Rules and requirements seem to be upon our industry one after the other, with most aimed at the consumer firms to protect their underlying investors. How are you coping, do you understand them and the impact, do you have it all under control? We will look at current and incoming policies which cannot be ignored.

Technology – hosted by Bill Bierds, BCC Group

We may operate in a long and established traditional industry, but technology impacts us all and market data is no exception. From Cloud, AI, Chat GPT, security etc, enough facets to explore and discuss, that carries both risk and opportunities and a road of challenges all firms face.

Round 2

Operations – hosted by Martijn Groot, Alveo Technology

Is there an optimal way to structure your data flows, to satisfy the end user from a quality and timely manner and control the data flows to ensure data compliance, and what products are out there that customers see as best of breed.

Indices – hosted by Mike Carrodus, Substantive Research

Benchmarking that has been benchmarked! Not all products and agreements are alike, its apparently less standard than what you may believe and the distortion across firms’ budgets is an interesting read! Do we want list pricing or best price compared to peers, an oxymoron that confuses even the vendor landscape.

Data Compliance – hosted by Stephen Veasey, 3di

Do you understand the contractual terms & conditions of each and every contract and more important, does your internal business users and stakeholders. What strategies are you applying today and what are the best alternatives; and don’t forget the DRM (Digital Rights Management) initiative.

Human Capital – hosted by Kerstin Eisele, Commerzbank

The market data skills and experience seem to be a dying breed with less people coming into our industry with know-how. Many firms thus, look for new talent based on their personal character, as knowledge is easier to train than changing people’s natural habits. What should firms be doing to recruit, educate and retain skilled people, its not only about young talent but also retraining good people already in your company.
