Senior Director for Technology Competition Policy

As Senior Director for Technology Competition Policy, Morten Skroejer is responsible for competition policy issues, with a special focus on legislative, regulatory, and policy efforts in the United States and the European Union.

Most recently, Skroejer has served as Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center, where he focused on transatlantic digital issues, particularly as they relate to competition policy and law in the United States and the EU. His articles exploring the similarities and differences in how U.S. and EU competition law and enforcement agencies approach Big Tech have been published in an American Bar Association publication and by the New Atlanticist—the Atlantic Council’s flagship blog. The majority of his career has been in diplomacy, government, and politics. For more than a decade, he served as counsel and senior advisor to a foreign ambassador in Washington, D.C., advising primarily on U.S. politics, Congressional relations, and transatlantic relations. Earlier in his career, he worked in Europe as a government official and as chief of staff to a political leader.

Skroejer holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. from the University of Copenhagen and a J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law.
