Director of Products & Services, 3di

John is the senior manager at 3di responsible for the Product Development operations of 3di’s key products (Profiler, DCDM, Abacus) & affiliated by-products, and directing, coordinating, and facilitating all Consultancy engagements/projects and Managed Services operations globally.

A veteran of 20+ years in Market Data, with most of that time as an industry recognized subject matter expert for market data compliance & audit, John was the first person to be awarded the FISD Data Licensing Specialist (DLS) accreditation.

Prior to 3di John was Global Head of Market Data Compliance & Audit for BNP Paribas for over 7 years with global responsibility for market data compliance across the firm and managing all market data audits from initiation to settlement.  He also held a data vendor management remit for 2 years for the Exchanges, Brokers, and fixings & bank rate providers.  Before BNP Paribas, John worked in a similar, lower-level capacity briefly at Commerzbank, and partially during his prior 11 years at Credit Suisse, having started at CSFB in 1998.

John has served the industry:

• on the Executive Committee of FISD from 2018-2020,
• on the Executive Committee of IPUG (Information Providers User Group) as Chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Data Compliance & Audit from 2010-2017,
• and as Chairman of IPUG from 2016-2017.

John has also presented to or moderated/sat on panels for FISD, IPUG, SIPUG (Swiss IPUG), and COSSIOM (the French market data banking consortium); and is regularly contacted by Members of these organizations and the wider industry for help and advice on the subject of Market Data Compliance & Audits.

Married with three children, John is also a karate black belt & has been a qualified karate instructor since 2011; at the weekends he teaches a class of around 40 students of all ages and abilities.
