Darrell W. Gunter graduated from Seton Hall University with a BS in Business Administration in 1981 before going on to receive his MBA at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 1991. He is a global executive and has extensive experience in the strategic development of new and existing business; new products; sales; advertising, staff development and relationship management and overall international business operations. A few of his areas of expertise are Multi-Cultural leadership, Turnaround Management, Strategic Planning, and Solution-Focused Selling. He currently serves as Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for the North America marketplace for the Academic and Government accounts. Elsevier is a world-leading publisher of print and electronic science, technical and medical journals with offices in New York, Amsterdam, Singapore, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. Darrell was recruited as Vice President in 1996 to launch new the Regional Office providing sales and service to Academic, Government and Corporate Markets in North, Central and South America. His team successfully launched ScienceDirect in the Americas. Over this time period, Darrell's team has achieved a 70% penetration of the Americas marketplace. Darrell is also a key member of top-management team addressing strategic and operational issues across divisions and responding to competitive threats worldwide.
